Rescues We Support

Mercer Animal Rescue & Sanctuary

Mercer Animal Rescue & SanctuaryMercer Animal Rescue’s purpose is to rescue, socialize, rehabilitate, and find forever homes for abused, neglected, abandoned and unwanted dogs, cats and horses.

They rescue dogs from high kill shelters and the streets in the over-populated south. They transport them to the northeast states or the Chicago area where they hold adoption and fundraising events.

All of their potential adopters are pre-approved by submitting an adoption application and home checks are sometimes required. They want to make sure their dogs go to the best possible homes since they have not always had the best life.

Rubies and Rogues

Rubies and RoguesHaving “Rogues” as part of their name throws people off at times. They instantly think they are a rescue, but they are so much more. There’s significant meaning to each part of their name.

Rubies are more than a gem; they hold a spiritual meaning behind them. Rubies are associated with improved energy, concentration, creativity, loyalty, honor, and compassion. Rubies are thought to be protective of home, possessions, and family.

Rogues represent those that are alone, left to fend for themselves. They believe no one should ever feel as if they are alone – animal or person.

The Rubies represent home, family, and people and Rogues are those that are alone – they will always have a place with them, and that is why they are Rubies and Rogues.

Adopt a Pit RescueAdopt a Pit Rescue

Adopt A Pit Rescue was founded in 2013 to rescue pit bulls and other “bully breeds.” Since their founding, they have adopted out over 5,000 dogs and currently have over 80 foster homes. They are a foster home-based rescue. Their dogs live in foster homes as part of a family until they find their forever home. They rely on donations and adoption fees to cover their costs and to be able to continue to save these wonderful dogs! They are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, so donations are tax-deductible.

RescueVet

RescueVet is a nonprofit rescue that saves animals from unnecessary euthanasia and provides care to animals in need of medical attention and a forever home. As a foster-based rescue, they ensure each animal finds their happily ever after. Additionally, they deliver “happy tails” and transport pets to their new homes. They also offer quality veterinary care at affordable prices.

PAWS New England

Our Mission of PAWS New England is to rescue dogs who would otherwise be euthanized in our southern states. They have over 100 volunteers, all unpaid, donating their time for one reason only: the love of the dogs in their program and those dogs they have yet to meet. Their foster network—essential to their life-saving work—continues to grow. The importance of foster families cannot be understated. They are vital lifelines for the dogs that come through their  program.

After initially working solely with the Tipton County Animal Shelter, they have in the last few years begun working with several groups in Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas, Missouri and Louisiana. When they can, they assist with the local surrender of dogs when no other options are presented to an owner or their family.

Streetdog Foundation

Streetdog Foundation has rescued more than 1,500 endangered dogs from the streets and shelters of Memphis, all without a dedicated structure to house them. Streetdog relies on volunteer foster families to not only provide homes for our dogs, but also give them the love, security, and confidence they need to succeed in their forever homes. Whether temporarily fostering or adopting one of our rescues, everyone who takes in a Streetdog becomes part of our family.

Streetdog’s primary goal is to find the right fit for both the dog and the household. They are not a first-come, first-served rescue; their volunteers work diligently to make sure every match has the highest chance of success.
