Happy Tails Spotlight
Cooper
Cooper is a sweet, well-behaved dog who desperately needed a loving family to adopt him. He is a 3-year-old, 80 lb Shepherd mix with a beautiful brindle and white coat.
Cooper’s owner had to give him up due to moving and new landlord restrictions, and Cooper’s life was on the line. He was running out of time, and we urgently needed someone to step up.
Thanks to your help, Cooper has found his “furever home” and has been adopted!
Lady Featherington
Lady F came in to Memphis Animal Services (MAS) with a badly injured jaw, and an undiagnosed (at MAS) shoulder injury. She’s only 6 months old, still a puppy, or toddler in human years.
She was a stray, so no one knew the cause(s) of her injuries nor the trauma that she endured while trying to survive the streets of Memphis. The summer heat and surviving without water can kill a dog faster than starvation. Other horrors include getting hit by a car, getting attacked by other dogs, lack of food and being victim of abuse. We’ll never know what happened to Lady, but when she arrived at the shelter, she was put on the Critical list, scheduled for euthanasia June 29th.
When Lady was posted on Facebook, dog lovers united to save her life, and pledged over $1,000 (!) toward her much-needed surgery and medical care. Pledges just flooded in with amounts from $5 to $100 because this small puppy with her horrible injuries just grabbed everyone’s heart. “She will not suffer and die” everyone cried out, and a fabulous foster parent and dog rescue, Rescue Vet, pulled Lady from the shelter to begin a new, happy and safe chapter of her life. We call this “Happy Tails”!
Pictures, surgery updates and videos have been provided by the foster mom, Rescue Vet and the pledge monitor. Lady provided the “adorable”.
Pledges can be made to Rescue Vet for on going dog care expenses and transport costs to Lady’s “furever” home or The Savior Foundation for all of their help providing funds for dogs in need.
